The patented door solution combining sound insulation and ventilation

SONOR-VENTI is a pioneering product that unites sound insulation and ventilation in a single door leaf. This opens up entirely new possibilities for architects and developers, as they no longer have to choose between the two functions. It is therefore possible to easily and effectively create rooms with both features. There are a variety of models available, and the design of the ventilation openings can be tailored to individual tastes. As a result, SONOR-VENTI is extremely versatile in terms of look and feel.

SONOR-VENTI doors are based on a design principle that is simple yet smart: Vertical channels in the middle layer of the door allow unrestricted air flow. Sound waves, by contrast, are forced to change direction multiple times within the channels, attenuating to almost nothing. Sound is only propagated via the surface area of the door leaf.

venti-insert – enhanced by high-class product design, PHOENIX DESIGN, a world-leading studio based in Stuttgart, Germany, created an out-of-the-ordinary air-vent design especially for neuform. Its clean-cut aesthetic is a far cry from the plain-and-simple functional look of traditional grilles. True to the "form follows function" principle, the team developed wave-shaped stainless-steel sheets that assist ventilation in a highly effective manner.

venti-protect

venti-protect is ideal for environments with high mechanical stresses, as the vent also serves as a kick plate. A venti-protect door leaf with an HPL surface finish and moulded PU‑protect edging can withstand significant wear-and-tear. The easy-to-clean finish makes this model particularly suitable for hospitals.

SONOR-VENTI – HOW IT WORKS

The patent-pending SONOR-VENTI interior door features an invention that combines ventilation with sound insulation in a simple and practical way.

Unrestricted ventilation

Air enters via vertical ventilation channels that are connected to a vent to both the outer and inner sides of the door leaf – either in the form of ventilation holes or a horizontal, wave-shaped vent made from stainless steel.

Highly effective sound insulation

The door’s inherent sound insulation properties remain intact. This is because the sound waves that penetrate the door leaf are deflected by 90 degrees and, due to the length of the ventilation channels, are only able to exit at the other end to a limited extent.

Fully compatible with standard ventilation systems

i.f.t. Rosenheim test laboratory found air resistance measurements comparable with standard ventilation grilles. Doors with leaves 86 cm or more in width comply with DIN 18017 part 3, which calls for a cross-sectional area A of 150cm². As a result, the door functions well with traditional ventilation systems. The vertical channels in the middle layer allow unrestricted air flow. By contrast, sound waves are forced to change direction multiple times in the channels and diminish to almost nothing. Sound is only propagated via the surface area of the door leaf.

AIR RESISTANCE TESTING

i.f.t. Rosenheim measured air resistance in accordance with DIN EN 42 and obtained very low values approximately comparable with those of a conventional ventilation grille.
